Detailed Project Description Submission

The Detailed Project Description (DPD) for the Fording River Extension (FRX) Project was successfully submitted to the BC Environmental Assessment Office on July 29, 2021. This submission ends the Early Engagement Phase of the coordinated environmental assessment (EA) process and starts the EA Readiness Decision phase.

The intent of the DPD is to describe the current understanding of the Project to inform the BC Environmental Assessment Office Readiness Decision and the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada Notice of Determination. The DPD builds upon the Project information that was shared in the Initial Project Description. Updates and additions have been informed by feedback received through the Early Engagement Phase of the Project and by technical studies that have been advanced to date. The DPD supports in refining Project components and options through the design process.

The assessment process is expected to take several years and will include multiple, substantial opportunities for public participation and input. Public input can be given directly to Teck at any time, including between government designated periods. You can do so by:
